About Alexa Gould
Legal Assistant: Linda Price | 713-554-6755 | lprice@thompsonhorton.com
Alexa attributes her passion for education issues in large part to her mother, a career educator in Texas public schools. Inspired by her mother’s public service, Alexa knew she wanted to practice education law and advocate on behalf of schools.
Alexa is a Senior Associate in Thompson & Horton’s Houston office. She counsels and represents school districts, colleges, and other governmental entities on a variety of employment and education issues. Alexa has experience handling pre-trial matters for claims arising under the First and Fourteenth Amendments; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; the Americans with Disabilities Act; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act; and Chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code. Alexa has also prepared briefing for matters before state and federal appeals courts, including the Texas Supreme Court and United States Supreme Court. In addition, Alexa represents clients in internal grievance hearings and EEOC investigations.
Prior to joining Thompson & Horton, Alexa practiced general school law and employment law. During law school, Alexa was a member of the Texas Law Review and interned for the Texas Association of School Boards.
