John’s extensive experience counseling clients on business, operations and governance matters combined with his proven track record in the courtroom enable him to help clients make smart decisions from the outset and resolve unforeseen problems and disputes that may arise.
John is a partner in the firm’s Houston office, representing school districts, colleges, private schools, and other governmental and private clients. John provides general counseling and transaction services, advising clients on matters involving public procurement, construction, real estate, contracting, licensing agreements, tax abatements, interlocal agreements, cooperative purchasing, open government, personnel, governance and conflicts of interest. He has extensive state and federal civil litigation experience, handling a wide variety of cases on matters including procurement disputes, construction, breach of contract, real estate, civil rights, labor and employment, and insurance disputes. John regularly provides board and administrator training and is a regular speaker on topics including procurement, construction and governance. Prior to attending law school, John was a legislative aide in the Texas Senate.
